I’m up in Church Studios for a few days with Ruarri, the guys and the producer working through the tunes for the new album. Really looking forward to the tour and can’t wait to get back here in October to record it. In the meantime Ruarri’s posted another rehearsal vid of one the new album tracks, hope you like.
It’s been a little while since I posted anything and there’s a couple of bits to tell you all.
First off, the summer is all done and the festivals are finished. It’s been so much fun touring them with the Strings and I feel so lucky to have been on the road with such an great bunch. I’ve had highs and lows, met some amazing people, drank a lot of brandy chai lattés, and played music, can’t ask for more than that. We’re taking a few weeks off but the diary is starting to fill up with an array of interesting looking gigs so watch this space…
The big news at the moment is that at the end of the month I’ll be going to tour with Ruarri Joseph after which we’ll be going into the studio to record his new album. I’m really looking forward to this, I love the music, the rehearsals have been sounding great and Ruarri and the other guys in the band are a great laugh, it’s going to be a blast. Check out Ruarri’s website here, there’s the new E.P. up for streaming and a free download of one of the tracks all for free for a little while so get on it!
One of my great friends Cally Gibson is a fantastic illustrator and a talented viola player, (she makes up one quarter of the string quartet The Birdettes who played with the Strings at the Poly show a few months back.) Cally came to one of my recent gigs with the Strings, took a few photos and text me the other day to tell me she had painted the PSF and would I like a print. Needless to say I think it’s brilliant, (it’s one of Cally’s stickers I have on the back of my electric bass), and urge you to check out her website. http://www.callygibson.co.uk/
